Image compression that keeps your photos looking right

Large images slow down websites, fill up phones and bounce off email size limits. Aivdo shrinks them with the same codecs professionals use: MozJPEG for photos, pngquant and OxiPNG for PNG graphics, libwebp and AVIF for modern formats, and Gifsicle for animations.

Instead of guessing a quality number, Smart mode encodes each picture several times and compares every attempt with the original using SSIM, a perceptual similarity score. It keeps the smallest file that still looks the same to the human eye.

Everything runs in your browser, so there is no upload wait and nobody else ever sees your images. Drop one file or a folder of thousands and save them all as a single ZIP.

    1. Drop your images or a whole folder into the box above.
    2. Pick a compression level, or leave it on Recommended.
    3. Save each file, or everything as one ZIP.

    FAQ

How much can I reduce image size?

Most photos shrink 40–80% and screenshots or graphics up to 90%, with no visible difference. If an image is already optimized, Aivdo keeps the original.

Can I compress many images at once?

Yes. Drop hundreds of files or a whole folder. Up to three images compress in parallel and the ZIP keeps your folder structure.

    Are my files uploaded?

No. Compression runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device. Aivdo only counts anonymous usage (country, file type and sizes). File names and contents are never sent.

Which compression level should I pick?

Recommended keeps files looking the same and suits almost everything. Extreme and Maximum make files much smaller but lower the quality, which is handy for email limits. Maximum tries several settings on PDFs and keeps the smallest valid file.

    Which browsers work?

Images and PDFs work in every modern browser. Video needs Chrome, Edge or Safari 17 or newer.

    Is there a size limit?

No fixed limit. Very large videos (over about 1–2 GB) can run out of browser memory, so split those first.

What if a file can't get smaller?

Aivdo keeps the original and tells you. You never get back a bigger file.
